"STATEMENT MISLEADING." / CRITICISM BY MR. H. E. HOLLAND. [by TELEGRAPH.' —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Criticism of the statement made by the Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes, regarding the,expense of the present session of Parliament, was made by Mr. H. E. Holland, Leader of the Labour Party, when speaking at the annual conference of the party, which was continued to-day./ " On March 30," said Mr. Holland, " a misleading statement was given to the press by the Prime Minister regarding the extra cost to the country of the. special session. In this statement Mr. 1' orbes included the salaries of members and officers of Parliament and other items of expense which go on whether the House is in session or recess. He even included depreciation of furniture as an extra due to the holding of the session. This grossly inaccurate statement was made clearly for the purpose of discrediting the Labour Party in its opposition to the wage reductions."
