YESTERDAY'S WEATHER.
CONDITIONS IN THE SOUTH.
Auckland.—A moderate north-east wind was blowing yesterday, and the sky was overcast and threatening. Light showers fell during the early morning and heavy rain for about two hours in the afterqoon. The barometer was falling at midnight, the reading being 29.95. Wellington.—The day at Wellington yesterday was overcast and calm. Late in the afternoon misty rain began to fall. Further rain appears likely. Christchurch.—The weather yesterday was dull for the most part, with a strong breeze from the north-east. The maximum temperature was 59deg. The barometer was falling, tho reading last evening being 29.98 in. Dnnedlin.—The weather was clear nrid fine in Dunedin yesterday, with brighb sunshine and a fresh breeze from the north-east. The maximum temperature wus 63 degrees. The barometer was fairly steady, the reading last' evening Ibeing 29.95 in.
