DIVING BY LADIES.
CHAMPIONSHIP INSTITUTED. Diving by ladies has been given so little encouragement in Auckland that the contest for the Auckland championship at the Fonsonby Swimming Club's carnival at the Shelly Beach Baths on Saturday afternoon should create more than passing interest. It is unlikely that the competitors will be required to do other than plain dives, and some neat displays should be given. It is to be hoped that this competition will bo the means of reviving definitely diving among ladies and before long raising the standard in Auckland equal to thab of any other cefitre.
