FIREMEN IN CONFERENCE.
UNITED DISTRICT BRIGADES. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. [BV TELEGRAPH. —PJIESS ASSOCIATION.] \V AIP UKURAU, Saturday. The 19th annual conference of the United District Fire Brigades' Association was held at Waipukurau last evening. Supt. J. A. Chambers, president of tho Waipukurau Association, presided. Fifteen brigades were represented. A civic welcome was accorded the delegates by the Mayor, Mr. R. McLean. The annu;)l report showed that 22 brigades were affiliated to the association, and that the funds of the association were in credit to the extent of £59. The election of officers resulted as follows : —President, Supt. R. A. Anderson (Marton); vice-presidents, Foreman A. S. Annand (Waipukurau), Supt. H. Matson (Carterton), Foreman H. W. Hartley (Taihape), Deputy-Supt. W. Minett (Masterton), treasurer, DeputySupt. 11. J. Price (Hastings); secretary, Supt. 11. Hende'.son (Hastings) ; auditor, Mr. J. D. Donovan (Hastings).
