ATHLETIC CHAMPIONSHIPS.

EARTHQUAKE RELIEF SPORTS MEETING AT THE DOMAIN. Tljo athletic carnival to take place at the Domain to-morrow promises to raise a substantial sum for the earthquako relief fund, and. favoured by fine weather, a good afternoon's sport should be witnessed. The gun display by the New Zealand Division of the Naval forces is under the control of Petty-Oflicer Vincent, who was in charge of the crew of the Chatham which won the championship for the field pun display at the British Olympia in 1929. The display takes place by permission of Commander Berthon and after the wonderful work rendered by tho Navy on the actual scene of the recent disaster this fuither effort should meet with a rousing reception. The Inter-housc Girls' Association has been practising every night this week, and. under the control of Mr. T. P. Laffey, will give one of its spectacular displays, already popular with the public. The teams from Milno and Choyce, Ltd., and Greer and Son, Ltd., which dead-heated for the 1930 inter-house physical drill championship, will give a combined drill display. Another squad will present a gymnastic tableau on tho parallel bars, while further teams will participate in overhead ball and other competitions. The 7Syds inter-house girls' championship will be decided, while the 200 yds interhouse relay championship has drawn an entry of 12 teams. The strictly athletic portion of the piogramme will see decided the Auckland provincial championships. All the prominent athlotes in the Auckland province will be competing and exceptionally good contests should be witnessed. The inter-club championship rests on the results of these events.
