LAND DRILL COMPETITION#

Tho Pirate Shippe Plate life-savins competition, held at Milford yesterday, attracted only three entries, although open to all the swimming clubs and schools. in Auckland. This thre.o teams were from the Milford and Takapuna Surf and Life-saving Clubs. The contest, which is for life-saving land drill, wan won by tho Takapurta B team, captained by Mr. It. Moor. The work was considered of very high order. _ The judges were Messrs. C. M. Champion and T. D. Poster, examiners of tho Royal Life-saving Society. 'Jjie plate, which was given by Milfpid Ar.'iusements, Limited, was- presented by Mr. A. Warbrick.
