RIFLE SHOOTING.
AUCKLAND CITY CLUB.
The service championship of the Auckland City Defence Rifle Club was advanced n further stage on Saturday with a 6hoot based on the Trentham programme. The practices fired were five rounds application and sis rounds at the moving figure at 200 yds., followed by seven rounds rapid in °ss and seven rounds at the snap-shooting disc at 300 yds. C. J. M. Clark was again in great form, his score being a club record, while H. Sinimonds also gave a fine exhibition. C. J. Kobieeon and a Grammar School boy shot exceptionally well. AKARANA CLUB. Members of the Akarana Rifle Club competed for trophies presented by the club over the ranges of 800 yds. and 900 yds nt the Penrose rifle range on Saturday afternoon Fair shooting conditions prevailed. R Belk put up a remarkably fine performance by making 97 over tho long ranges. Silver spoons were won by R. Belk # x*. Wakefield and T. Holmes. Details are as A.—R.
