This entails taking the task "out of the hands ot the Government and raising nonGovernment finance for farm relief, which would bo controlled by a suitable representative body.
Under the scheme advances would be made on a selective basis to farmers to pu/ in and take off their crops, and to provide maintenance as required.
It is believed that there is sufficient spare money kept in Australia to finance such a scheme, provided it had proper /backing. Mr. Latham said he had already pad favourable dealings with the banks.
