THEFT AFTER CRASH.
TRAGEDY NEAR TUNIS.
CASE ON ENGLISH RECORDS
LONDON. March 3.
The following bald entry occurs in the air services appropriation account. 1 lo loss of cash by robbery. Two pilots were making a long-distance flight from England. The machine crashed in mountainous country, the pilots were killed and the cash stolen from the wreckage, £IOO. The entry refers to a crash in northern Africa on 'December 17, 1929, when Squadron-Leader Jones-Williams and Flight-Lieutenant Jenkins were killed. They left Crnnwcll in an attempt to fly non stop lo Capetown and flew into the side of a mountain near lunis the same night.
