HAND STFIUCK WITH AXE.

[from our own correspondent. ] PAEIIOA, Tuesday. A boy, aged four years, son of Mr. J. Rooney, of Paeroa, met with a painful accident last Saturday which necessitated the removal of a finger. The child was playing with a tin when another lad endeavoured to hit the tin with an axe, striking young Rooney's hand and inflicting a deep cut. One finger had to be removed and others are badly injured,.
