The Commonwealth and Dominion Line s earner Port Pino is reported to have cleared New last Wednesday for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttclton and Dunedin. She is due at Auckland about February 3. THE MATAROA. The Shaw. Savill and Albion liner Mataroa was scheduled to clear Southampton yesterday with p.iS3enpera and mail for New Zealand and cargo for discharge at u elhnf.'ton and Auckland. She is <]ue at Wellington on February 3. and at Auckland a week later. R.M.S. NIAGARA AT SYDNEY. Tho Royal Mail liner Niagara reached Sydney from Auckland at 7.30 o'clock yesterday morning. The vessel is scheduled to leave Sydney next Thursday on her return voyage to Vancouver, via Auckland, Suva and Honolulu THE ULIMAROA. The local office of tho Huddart-Pnrker Company advises that the Ulimaroa is to leave Sydney for Auckland to-day. instead of yesterday, owing to the New Year holiday. The vessel is duo at Auckland on Wednesday and she is to sail on her return trip to Sydney next Friday. THE TURAKINA. Owing to tho wet weather yesterday delaying loading operations on tho New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Turakinr. the vessel's departure for London. Avonmouth, Liverpool. Manchester and Glasgow was postponed until six o'clock this morning. THE CANADIAN CONSTRUCTOR. Reported to have reached Panama on Tuesday the Canadian National steamer Canadian Constructor is en route from Auckland to New York, Boston and Halifax. She left Auckland on December 4. THE CITY OF GLASGOW. The New Zealand Shipping Company has received advice that the A. and A. Line's chartered steamer City of Glasgow cleared New York on December 17 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttclton, Dunedin and Sydney. She is duo at Auckland on January 25. THE SYDIC. The Swedish steamer Sydic is expected from Wellington about Monday morning. She will berth sit King's' Wharf to unload general cargo from Scandinavia and Africa and a large Quantity of hardwood timber from Bunbhry. Spedding, Limited, aro tho local agents. THE SYDNEY MARU. The Japaneso motor-ship Sydney Maru left Wellington for Auckland at four, o'clock yesterday -afternoon in continuation of her voyage from Japan and Manila. The vessel is due about r,lid-day to-morrow and will berth at Central Wharf to discharge and load to the agency of A. G. Frankham, Ltd. She will return to Japan via Tasmania and Australia and she is scheduled to sail for Hobart at four o'clock on Monday afternoon. ' THE MOTOR-SHIP NORNE. Having left Port Chalmers on Wednesday afternoon the Norwegian motor-ship Nome is expected at Auckland this evening. Tho vessel will berth at King's Wharf to unload a quantity of guano from Seychelles Islands to the agency of A. S. Paterson and Company, Limited. The remainder of the cargo is for Wanganui. THE SURREY. Further wireless advice from the Federal Lino Surrey states that she will arrivo from Liverpool at two o'clock this morning. Tho vessel hns general merchandise from West Coast porta of Great Britain for discharge at Auckland, Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton nnd Dunedin. Cargo for Auckland will bo unloaded at Queen's Wharf to tho agency of tho New Zealand Shipping Company. THE NARBADA. The Union Company's Indian trader Narbada arrived from Eastern ports yesterday afternoon. She berthed at Queen's Wharf to unload cargo !from Calcutta. Penang. Singapore and Samarang. Up-to-date radio transmitting and receiving equipment has been fitted into the Union Steam Ship Company's new transpacific steamer Monowai, which has taken up tho running between Wellington and San Francisco in place of the Tahiti. This gear was designed, manufactured and installed by Amalgamated Wireless (Australasia), Limited. It comprises a 1} kilowatt valve transmitter suitable for either speech or Morse. The transmitter works on the 600 and 800 metres wave-lengths assigned to shippi.ig. end also on a short wave intended for long-distaticei communication. Emergency apparatus is provided in caso of a breakdown and the Monowai is also provided with vnlvo receivers suitahlo for coption of both commercial messages and '"•'jdcf.st programmes.
