DOLE IN BRITAIN.
Forty-one and a half million pounds was paid into the British Unemployment Fund between March 13 and November 1 last year. During the same period the amount paid out in "doles" was £51,840,000. The figures are quoted in a parliamentary reply by Miss Margaret Bondfield, the Labour Minister. Receipts were:—From employers, £10,580,000; from employed, £9.120,000: from the Exchequer, £21,840,000; total £41,540,000;
