DANCING AT THE CIVIC.

The new year was ushered in with much mirth and merriment at the Civic Winter Garden, a gay battle with snowhalls providing the dancers with a happy outlet for holiday spirits. As (he midnight hour chimed a specially trained ballet of 12 children heralded tho new year, and those present were further entertained by Trevor and Dawn, Apache dancers. Tho Winter Garden Band was in tho best of form and dispensed a bright selection of dance tunes. Among the merrymakers were:—Mr. and Mrs. Ilarrie, Wellington; Mr. and Mrs. Neilson, Wellington; Miss Davidson, Miss Cate, Mrs. Malone, Mr. and Mrs. Claudo Tendall, Miss Jarvis, Miss Hadfield, Mrs. T. A. 0 Brinn, Miss O'Brien, Mrs. F. Anthony, Miss Isobel Armilage, Mr. and Mrs. Aylesbury, Miss Short (Wellington), Mrs. Boyle, Miss "P. Beresford, Mr. and Mrs. Percy Greenfield.
