NEW CHINESE TARIFF.
AUSTRALIA AFFECTED.
HEAVIER IMPORT DUTIES
(Received December 31, 12.35 a.m.) * SHANGHAI, Dec. 30. The new Chinese tariff schedule published to-day greatly increases the duties on Australian imports, including canned fruits, jams, rabbit skins, leather, wool and timber.
The British imports affected by the heavy duties are piece goods and machinery.
