FARMERS AND TARIFFS.
Sir,—ln reply to the New Zealand Manufacturers' Association article dated December 26, if farmers were so well protected that we could have a fortnight's holiday at Christmas, and then, when we did start work, get down to the office at nine o'clock and finish at 4 p.m., have nice concrete roads and footpaths, parks and all other conveniences, etc., we would have time to tell, the Manufacturers' Association a few home truths and point out to them how little they know about farming and farming conditions, and how good they are at brow-beating the farmer and throwing dust in his eyes. Would the association answer this ? If the farmers are agreeable thlt all State aids be would the manufacturers also agree to it? Supporter of Polson.
