GUIDE ASSOCIATION.

On Monday evening at the Guide Home, Otimai, the Commissioners and Guiders of the Auckland Girl Guide Association welcomed the return of the chief commissioner, Mrs. W. R. Wilson, from her trip abroad. On arrival she was greeted with a Maori welcome, after which all filed into the Pine Room, where a special song of welcome was sung. Miss A. M. Burgin presented Mrs. Wilson with a list of the improvements which had been made as a surprise, and spoke of the great help given by Mr. McNair and of the work of Miss F. Knight, who is secretary of the Otimai improvement fund. Money had been given from the various provinces throughout the Dominion for this purpose. Mis. Rov Wilson and Mrs. Tolhurst accompanied Mrs. Wilson, and Miss D. Webster was also present. Willing helpers had prepared tea and a very merry meal followed, after which the party walked through the grounds t<s see tho improvements. The Camp Fire, which closed the evening, will be a memorable one to all present. Many familiar songs were sung and items were contributed by the following:— Miss Seth Smith, Miss V. Hutchinson and Miss M. Cox. Mrs. Wilson an inspiring talk about Foxlcase, the English Guide Home, where the International Conference was held, at which she was present, and of Guiding generally in the Homeland. She said that much as she had enjoyed her trip abroad, she was glad to return home, and appreciated the loving welcome accorded her.
