ACCEPTANCE OF TENDERS.

The Auckland Transport Board held its final meeting of the year yesterday, the chairman, Mr. J. A. C. Allum, presiding. __A largo number of tenders for annual supplies were accepted. Included among the successful tenderers were:—Wellington Woollen Manufacturing Company, Limited, 2400 yds. of navy serge, £960; McCallum Brothers, Limited, concrete shingle,/10s 7d a yard delivered, and 9s a yard at depot; Winstone, Limited, Onehunga sand, 8s 5d a yard, A. number of other contracts for stores were divided uj) among several firms. . . Three tenders were received for special work, Garnet Road extension, and that of Messrs, /Hadfields (Aust,), Limited, for £1096 was, accepted. Mr. Allum stated that it was the first time a contract had been let in Australia for that class of work, which included points, etc., for junctions. Tho contract for excavation work only on the Mount Eden tramway extension, Three Kings Road, was allotted to Grinter whose price was £637. The board will not meet again until February 10.
