FOOTBALL SERVICE.
FAMOUS BALL IN CHURCH. ATTENDANCE OF PLAYERS. LONDON. Nov. 17. The famous football of the East Surrey Battalion, which was kicked toward the German trenches while it was attacking Loos in 1915, was placed near the pulpit of St. Paul's Church, Kingston, on the occasion of a service which hundreds of footballers atteitded. The church was decorated with football trophies, miniature goalposts and corner flags. Sir Frederick Wall, secretary of the Football Association, read the lesson. The vicar before preaching blew a referee's whistle. ■
