A number of trotters and pacers who have raced consistently in their recent outings are engaged at Alexandra Park to-day. In three starts Royal Triumph has rceorded two firsts and a third. His successes were achieved in impressive style and he may soon add to his record. "Windchat has returned ono first and one second dividend in licr last four attempts. She is improving with racing and will be heard of again soon. Nelson Girl ha 3 raced consistently for two wins, ono second and two thirds in half-a-dozen sfarts. She has done well under A. J. Julian's care. Ben Bmgen has been able to register only two seconds in his last fivo races, but his two fourths last month were useful efforts. His recent track-work has been attractive and it 13 quite on the cards that ho will be an oarly winner. Kewpie's Guy has started four times this season. Aflor being unplaced the first time she has notched threo successive victories. This good young pacer looks like continuing her winning sequence. Hal Chimes has scored one win and four seconds in eight attempts. Ho is an improved pacer and has now reached a higher class. Machine Gun Reappears. Mountain Dell has not failed to return a dividend at her last four starts, her record being threo firsts and a second. She has not finished winning yet. Machine Gtm has not sported silk' this season. Last year he had a good innings, registering four wins in first-class company. Ho also secured ono second and one third placing. Machino Gun may not be ready yet awhile. Little Guy started four times last year for threo wins and a second. Ho was produced on two occasions at tho Auckland unemployment relief meeting, a third beins his best showing. Little Guy requires a firm track to do his best. Nelson Dillon has only once missed a place in four recent starts. In the other outings he has a win, a second and a third to his credit. "Whilo the sting is out of the ground he will probably retain his form. In threo outings this season Gold Treasure has twice been returned a winner. Last year he won on two occasions and was threo times in second place in eight attempts. He is capable of further success on an easy track Dealer, after running at Hamilton in the autumn, finished third in his next three races. Since then he has only registered a second in five starts. Ho is, however, liable to race in improved fashion at any time. Mignonne in four attempts has registered a first and a second. This tiare is in great heart and will only have to begin smartly to keep the opposition very busy. Arachne's Performances. Arachne has not won a raeo since Cambridge. However, she recently Tan two good seconds at Epsom and'may soon score again. Arachne requires a firm track to show her speed to advantage. Paradigm has a fine record for consistency, his last half-dozen outings having yielded two firsts and three seconds. In spito of his advanced years Sebisca ia still winning occasionally. In four starts this season he has secured two victories and a minor placing. Sebisca is a rare mud-lark, and is alwws worthy of consideration when the ground is heavy. Etta Cole has a penchant for finishing second, a position she occupied in both starts at last month's meeting.- Etta Cole looks like going one better in the near future. Stanmoor ran below his usual form Inst month, but in Bix starts prior to that his record for six outings was two firsts, two seconds and a third. He may add to this list before this meeting terminates. Since being raced free-legged Trustworthy has done remarkably well, consistency being a strong feature of her performances. In her last eight starts Trustworthy has won on four occasions and has twice been second and once third. This is a record that will tako some beating. Belle Axworthy's Form. Explosion, who did not prove a success as a tvotter. )3 again pacing well and ran a second and third at Epsom last month. Ho should soon improve on this form. "Woodvale has not won a race for several seasons, but this season ho has not run a bad race. Two seconds and a third is his record in his last four starts and there is still a chance for him to win another race. Bello Axworthy has failed in each of her threo starts this season, but that will not causo her supporters to forget her fine record of last term. In eight outings Bello Axworthy missed a placo only on one occasion. the finit start of the season, scoring four first 3, two seconds and a third. When she gets a dry track she will again show her worth. Taking a lino through tho performances referred to, the following horses should again bo in the picture during tho meeting;— Royal Triumph, Kewpie's Guy. Mountain Dell. Nelson Dillon, Etta Cole. Belle Axworthy. Trustworthy and "Woodvalo. A number of the competitors have displayed a liking for solid performances on heavy tracks. In this category aTe Nelson Girl, Gold Treasure, Mignonne, Sebisca and Stanmoor. CABALLERO NOT AT EPSOM. W. HUGHES' TEAM DEPLETED. The Lortgburn trainer W. Hughes did not bring the young trotter Caballero north for tho Auckland fixture,-and his only representative at Epsom is Gang Awa'. Hughes staled that whilo ho was at Addington with Padlock the horses at Longburn had an easy time and tho trotter was not forward enough to tackle the Epsom opposition. Hughe's has not many horses in work at present. Loch Moigh being again turned out on account of soreness. The promising filly Bingen Crest is also 011 tho easy list, having been frit out of commission through a knee injury. Iu spito of his poor showing at Addington I'adlock is still in work and. provided lie remains sound, he will be a competitor at the Auckland Summer Meeting. CANTERBURY TROTTING. KOTUKU JACK'S IMPROVEMENT. [BV TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] CHRISTCIIURCH, Tuesday. Baynut raced only fairly well at the last meeting at Addington. He may do a lot better when the going is heavy, for ho is a good, strong pacer, although not gifted with exceptional brilliance. L. Frost, the young New Brighton trainer, has made a big improvement in the pacer Kotuku Jack, who at the recent meeting was carrying 111010 condition than ever before. He nlao finished in a manner that stamps him at least a gams racehorse. He may newr be in the same class as his full-brother. Prince Pointer, but he should improve 011 previous performances, 110 is a really good typo of pacer, and will win races in the near future. Invader raced badly at Addington, but he is engaged at tho Forbury Park Meeting, and is 011 tho end of the President's Handicap, 4.32 class. This seems well within his compass, but it should be remembered that C. S. Donald ha-s othor horses in Morning Sun and Sunny Bob engaged. The brood maro Muricata, dam of Taraire and Ahuriri, has been sent on a visit to Cathedral Chimes, who ia standing tho leason in North Otago.
