CHARGE OF ASSAULT.
ELDERLY MAN IN COURT. REMANDED TO OHURA. An elderly man, William Robert Browning, was charged in (lie Police Court yesterday with assaulting his wife, Lucy Ann Browning, so as to cause actual bodily harm. It was alleged the offence was committed in the Taumarunui district on November 6. On tho application of tho police, accused was remanded to appear at Ohura on November 25. CONDITION OF WOMAN. RECOVERING FROM INJURIES. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] TAUMARUX UI, Tuesday. The condition of Mrs. Browning, the victim of an alleged assault at Tiki Kuiti. is not serious, and sho is recovering from her injuries. On the date of the alleged assault, in response to a telephone call at Ohura, a ccinstal.de. and doctor went to tho Ilaeo Public Works camp, where they found Mrs. Browning with cuts on both arms and knuckles and on tho back of her head. The doctor attended to tho ininred woman.
