PRESENTATIONS.
The Mayor of Tauranga, Mr. B. C. Robbing, and the members of tho Borough Council, assembled on Monday in tho Council Chambers and presented to the town clerk, Mr. R. B. Shearman, a Chinese brass afternoon tea tablo, as a wedding gift. Best wishes woro extended to him by the Mayor and several members. Mr. Shearman was also tho recipient of a set of cutlery from the council staff.
• A presentation in appreciation of his services to tho Bombay Library was made to Mr. W. J. Rutherford, of St. Heliers Bay, for many years a resident of Bombay, in tho library room at Ptikekohe on Monday evening. In handing Mr. Rutherford a pocket wallet and fountain pen, both of which woro mounted and suitably inscribed, Mr. G. T. Proud® said the gifts were intended by subscribers to express appreciation of Mr. Rutherford's very helpful work as secretary of the library, a position which he had filled for several years prior to going to St. Heliers.
