LAD FALLS ON DISC.

SERIOUS CUT RECEIVED.

FATHER IN RUNAWAY CART.

Through falling on a disc cultivator rn Saturday the nine-year-old son of Mr. William Strong, farmer, of the Mahikarau, received a severe cut on one leg, an artery being severed. He lay for soma time before being found. When the boy was discovered a youth, Robert Hodgson, went for the doctor at Whitianga, about eight miles away. Owing to the seriousness of the case the doctor asked for the boy to be brought in and preparations were made to receive him -at the Mercury Bay Hospital. Through some misunderstanding, however, the lad was sent to the Coromandel Hospital, where he is now an inmate. He is progressing as well as can be expected.

An accident befel the lad's father 10day when visiting Whitianga. He was driving a horse and cart and when near the waterfront the horse bolted. The cart was wrecked.
