STOWAWAYS ON NIAGARA.

ONE ASSAULTS OFFICER. SEQUEL IN POLICE COURT. Charged with stowing away on the Niagara at Sydney on November 13, Frederick Brodwick, aged 27, ship s steward, and Thomas Malone, aged 19, fitter, appeared before Mr. F. K. Hunt., 8.M., in the Police Court yesterday. Both accused pleaded guilty and were fined H 7, the amount of the shipping company's fare, in default 14 days' imprisonment. A further charge of unlawfully assaulting a member of the liner's crew was also admitted by Brodwick. George Sanders, patrol ollicer, said thai at about 7.30 p.m. on Thursday last he was called to the ship's post office to take charge of accused.
