BITTEN BY SNAKE.
SAVED BY CALLOUSED SKIN. Arthur Stone, who was attacked by a tiger snake, at'Tarana, New South Wales, recently, owes his life to the thick callous which formed on his fingers by many years of outdoor work. While ho was at work he discovered two tiger snakes, which showed fight. He killed them. When he returned home seven hours later he felt ill. A doctor who made an examination expressed tlie opinion that the skiu of Stone's finger was so hard that the snake poison had not taken full effect. Stone is now out of danger.
