GALE IN AUSTRALIA.
HIGH VELOCITY OF WIND, WORK ON BRIDGE STOPPED. (Received November 15, 12.25 a.m.) SYDNEY. Nov. M. A gale, affecting the entire south-east quarter of Australia, is extending over the Tasman. It is most remarkable for its sustained velocity. A wind of hurricane force has prevailed in Sydney for the last 48 hours, reaching a velocity of 52 miles an hour. Work on the harbour bridge has been stopped.
