STRIKE OF BUTCHERS.

AGREEMENT AT SYDNEY. RESUMPTION OF WORK. (Received November 14, 9.45 p.m.) SYDNEY, Nov. 14. The Minister of Labour and Industry, Mr. J. M. Baddeley, announced at a late hour last night that operations would be commenced today at tho abattoirs. Tho Meat Board and tho union realised the seriousness of the situation in regard to offal and had arrived at an agreement. At the Homebush abattoirs, which were reopened to-day, 2000 sheep and 600 cattle were slaughtered. Tho normal Friday killing would bo 18,000 sheep and 1000 cattle.

Tho officials estimate that there will be no shortage of meat until Tuesday Largo supplies of frozen meat arc being used. Retail prices have risen by 3d and 4d per lb.
