PERILOUS SKIRTS.

Two quite serious accidents in London ballrooms, directly due to thr ridiculously long skirts on which a few women insist upon dancing, took place recently. In one case a man trod on such a skirt, tore it off the wearer, and dislo caterl his knee, [n the other a woman fell over her own skirt, and was in bed for a week with a damaged ankle.
