HOSPITAL AUXILIARY.

MEETING OF COUNCIL. A meeting of (lie council of (ho Auckland Hospital Auxiliary was hold on Wednesday. Mrs. Alfred Kidd presided, ami (hero were also present Mrs. A. I). Campbell, patroness, the secretary, treasurer and 23 members of (lie council. Mrs. Kidd welcomed the new vice-presi-dents, Mrs. C. E. Maguire'and Mrs. J. J. O'Brien, also Mrs. Lee, delegate from the Auckland Provincial Federation of Women's Institutes. Mrs. Potter, president of the Mount Eden branch, reported 48 garments had been sent <o t lie depot. Several families bad been helped with food, clothing and bedding. The cushions of the Alexandra Home bad been re-covered, and a bookcase donated. They were purchasing two lounge chairs this month for the use of the inmates. The Onehunga branch, of which Mrs. is president, reported that 12 Morris chairs had been presented to (he Men's Infirmary; a very successful concert had been given, which was arranged by Madame De La Roche. The usual monthly distribution of sweets and papers had been held, and members had visited the infirmary to sew and several garments had been made. The city sewing circle had donated 92 garments, also a child's mattress had been made from tho clippings, the recipient of which was very grateful. Outside workers had generously made up 44 garments" During the month 355 garments had been distributed from the depot', to 48 families, and 36 families were helped with food orders. Other families were being helped with food orders from the auxiliary social workers. Mrs. Drysdale reported on the Transport Committee's work, and made a request for used records for the inmates of tho Auckland Hospital. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the matron and staff of the maternity hospital who so kindly attended to a patient free of cost. During the month an organ [ was purchased and presented to the hospital for use at divine services.
