SERIOUS CHARGES.
TWO ACCUSED FOR TRIAL. A motor mechanic, Jolm Upson, aged 19, was charged before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., in tlio Police Court yesterday, with unlawful carnal knowledge. Accused pleaded not guilty and was committed to tho Supremo Court for trial, bail of £IOO being renewed. Pleading not, guilty to a charge of indecently assaulting a girl aged nine years at New Lynn on November 2, Charles Timmins, aged 34, labourer, was committed to tho Supreme Court for trial. Bail of £IOO was allowed. A further remand of a week'was granted in tho case of Jack Van Dyk, aged 46, motor mechanic, who is charged with unlawfully using an instrument. Charged with counselling or procuring Van Dvk in the commission of the offence, Edith Mary Beagles, aged 42, domestic, was remanded for a similar period. Bail of £250 was allowed in each case.
