NEW TUAKAU BRIDGE SCHEME ALLOCATION OF THE COST, [sr TELEGRAFH. —OWN COBFESPONPENT.'] RAGLAN, Thursday. When the Raglan County Council met yesterday, the chairman, Mr. H. Wilson, welcome l '! the n°w .member, Mr. H. Johnstone. Mr. Wilson paid ho was pleased that Mr. Johnstone had been elected f.o fppresent the riding so long and worthily by his late father, Mr. Campboll Johnstone. The council agreed t" the proposals of the Waikato County Council regarding traffic inspectors, the Raglan Council to ha\e the use of two inspectors and to pay ]6 per cent, of the cost. The Pukekohe Borough Council objected to being included in the proposed special rating area for new Taukau Bridge. After considerable discussion it was agrepd to go on with the. scheme, the Raglan County to find 90 per cent., and tho, Tuakau Town Board 10 per cent, of • he cost. The chairman, Mr. Wilson, was appointed to lho vacancy on the Waikato Hospital Board raused by the death of Mr. Campbell Johnstone. A deputation from the Raglan Town "Board, headed by the chairman, Mr. J. M. Thompson, asked that, the road to Bryant Home be declared a secondary highway. ft, was pointed out that the traffic would have to be ascertained first. ft- was resolved to spend £2OO in repairs to ferry wharf at. Raglan, and that til" engineer be authorised to carry »'ut necessary repairn to the main Raglan wharf and embankment.
