CANADA'S SOVEREIGNTY.
RECOGNITION BY NORWAY.

The formal recognition liy the Norwegian Government of Canada's title to the Arctic islands of Axel Heiberg Land, Ellei Ringnes Land, Amund Ringnes Land and King Christian Land, was announced to-day. They are known as the Sverdrup Group. This removes one possible ground of dispute as to Canada's sovereignty in the whole of the Arctic sector north of the Canadian mainland.
