STEAMERS COLLIDE.
BRITISH AND JAPANESE. SHOCK KILLS A BISHOP. (Received November 8, 12.25 a.m.) TOKIO, Nov. 7. A British cargo steamer, tlio Benmacdhui (6464 tons), was leaving Kobe Harbour when she collided with a Japanese steamer, the Hakusan Maru (10,380 tons), from London. Subsequently the latter was beached. An examination of tho Benmacdhui showed that the damage to her was not as serious as was at first thought. Sho was repaired in time to permit of her departure for London. An unfortunate consequence of the collision was the death from shock of tlio Bishop of Korea, Dr. M. N. Trollope, who was en route to Seoul. Ho suffered from a weak heart.
