SOVIET AND BRITAIN.
'YEAR'S TRADING FIGURES. INCREASE IN PURCHASES. (Received November 7, 8.55 p.m.) LONDON. Nov. C. Tho Soviet's trading organisations in tho year ended September 30 purchased £15,395,000 worth of British goods, compared with £9,912,000 worth in the previous year. Russia's sales to Britain in the same year amounted to £23,542,000. The chairman of the Soviet trado delegation to Britain, Mr. S. Bron, in a state ment, says the Soviet's purchase from Britain increased by 55 per cent, in 1929-30 and sales in Britain by 19 per cent. The number of British ships chartered to carry Russian grain and other exports was 418, compared with 76 in the previous vear.
