PROTECTION OF WOMEN.
ANNUAL STREET APPEAL. SUM OF £254 COLLECTED. The £SO over last year's figures, was raised yesterday by the annual street appeal of the Society for the Protection of Women and Children. The president of the society, the Rev. W. Jellie, said the appeal had been very successful owing to the splendid cooperation of kindred societies. Stalls had been erected in the city and suburbs and had been conducted by helpers since early in the morning until six o'clock.
