MOTOR-CYCLIST HURT.
CAPSIZE ON RAZORBACK. SEVERE HEAD INJURIES. CONDITION VERY SERIOUS. Severe injuries to the head were received by Mr. Harold Dryden, when a motor-cycle and side-car in which he was travelling capsized on the Razorback Hill last evening. He was taken by a service car to tho Auckland Hospital, hia condition at a late hour being very serious. Tho driver of tho motor-cycle, Mr. Arthur Douglas Merson, of 9, Queen's Avenue. Epsom, escaped unhurt. Mr. Dryden, who is the owner of tho cycle, left National Park, where he has been employed, in company with Mr. .Merson, for Auckland yesterday morning. Mr. Merson changed places with the driver near Huntly. When descending the Razorback Hill near the Bombay end the cycle skidded in the loose metal at a sharp bend and capsized, Mr. Dryden's head being wedged under the saddle of the machine.
The injured man was picked up by a service car from New Plymouth, which was met en route to Auckland by Dr. L. J. F. Bull, of Pukekohe, who gave medical assistance. The car then made a quick run to the hospital.
