PLUNKET SOCIETY.
TE AWAMUTU. The monthly mooting of the local committor, of the To Awamutu branch of the riunkot Society was held this week, with the president) Mrs. 11. T. Collins, presiding. It was unanimously decided to record a protest against the proposed additions to the rules of the society, which, it is felt, if it takes effect, will prove a serious check to the initiative of local committees. The honorary treasurer stated that the income from the penny-in-the-slot at the rest room, which now comes to the society, averaged a little under £2 per month. The report of the relieving nurse (Miss Fletcher) for the month of October, showed 10 new cases. Visits to homes, 'c2; visits to office, adults 136, babies 120, older children 24; total visits, 302; telephone calls, 40; babies under supervision, 205; older children, 32. For some icason, unknown to the committee, the boxdonations for the month, which are in general so satisfactory, had diminished almost to vanishing point, there being only eight coins, totalling Is lOd, in the box. The committee trust# this setback is only temporary.
