ST. AIDAN'S.
The annual sale of work organised by the ladies' guild of St. Aidan's Church. Eemuera, was held in St. Aidan s Hall yesterday. The Reverend 11. V. Salmon extended a. hearty welcmio to those present, stating that the bazaar was being; held, with the object of raising funds to help' meet the added financial responsibility which the establishing of a daughter church, St. Chad's, Meadowbank, had incurred. This included a loan debt of £2OOO, and an extra sum each year for ministerial help. Such a worthy object, said the speaker, carried with it a creat appeal to Ihe generosity of thoso prosent. . - The sale, of work was officially opened bv Mrs. W. Endean. who was presented with a bouquet by Miss Mary Abbott. Among the splendid array of well-stocked stalls which were artistically decorated with paper roses and wisteria, intertwined with greenery, the flower stall, with its profusion of beautiful blooms, was particularly admired. On the stage a number of tables were arranged for afternoon t*a. Stallholders were as follows Produce stall. Mrs. Wrigley, Mrs. Plunkett and Mrs. Wilcox; flower stall, Mrs. Barton and Mrs. Shuttleworth; cake stall Mrs. Weir and Mrs. Wigg; plain work stall, Mrs. Sutton and Mrs. Held: mothers' union stall, Mrs Kellv and Mrs. Snowden Barry; novelty stall. Mis. Garrett and Miss Towle; fancv stall, Mrs. Ravmond Wood and Mrs. l'aulder; sweets stall, the choir, in charge of Mrs. Burrher and Mrs. Morton; afternoon tea the Girls' Friendlv Society, in charge of Mrs. Innes, Mrs. Chevis and Miss Brownhill.'
