Nominations for membership of the Unemployment Hoard to be established under the Art passed last session closed to-day. The Minister of Labour, the Hon. S. (t. Smith, will make selections from tho list and then make recommendations for appointment to the Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe.\ In addition tho Minister will recommend the appointment of the two Government representatives. MINISTER AND LABOUB. REPLY TO RECENT LETTER. [BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] DUNEDIN, Friday. In reply to a letter from tho Otago District Council of tho Alliance of Labour with referenco to its protest against the Minister's determination to select tho workers' representative on the Unemployment Board, the Minister of Labour, the Hon. S. _G. Smith, wrote:—"ln view of the tone of your letter, and the unfair imputations it contains against the Government and myself, I do not propose to take any action other than to advise you that the communication reached me by the mail arriving on the lst-inst."
