CONFERENCE NEXT WEEK. COMPANIES AND MINISTER. [BT TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HAMILTON, Friday. A letter from the Minister of Agriculture, Hon. A. J. Murdoch, stating thai' he would be pleased to receive representatives of the cheese companies next week to discuss the question of standardisation has been received by Mr. W. Lee Martin, M.P., in reply to representations made by tho South Auckland Dairy Association. The Minister gave the assurance that no decision on the subject would be made, until the various interests concerned had had an opportunity to place their views before him.
SUPPORT TOR SYSTEM. FRANKLIN JERSEY BREEDERS. [BT TELEGRAM. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] PUKEKOHE, Friday. A discussion on standardised cheese took place at a meeting of the Franklin Jersey Breeders' Club at Pukekohe today. A resolution was carried that, as it had not been proved that any deterioration in quality was caused by standardisation, and as standardised cheese returned at least jjd more per lb. butterfat to the producer—an important factor at present —the club protested against the proposal to abolish the export, of standardised cheese.
