(Received November 4, 5.5 p.m.) British "Wireless. RUCSRY, Nov. 3. Southern England and a largo part of the Midlands were swept yesterday morning by a violent thunderstorm. It lasted only about half an hour, but during that timo several people were struck by lightning, two men being killed. Torrential rain fell, buildings and motor-cars wero blown over and shop windows were broken. Tho/ storm was most seriously felt in the English Channel, where a 70?ini!e an hour gale raged in the early part of tho day. Two of tho mail steamers on the Folkestone-Boulogno run were slightly damaged and four passengers were injured. Other vessels had severe buffotings and but for''tho gallant work of the crows of motor-lifeboats there would have been loss of life on small vessels which wero in difficulties.
