MINERS' WORKING WEEK.
FIVE DAYS ADVOCATED. EMPLOYEES AT ROTOWARO. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HUNTLY, Tuesday. A decision to press for the fivo-day week at present in operation in most of the mines in Now Zealand was reached by the miners of the Rotowaro colliery to-day, following a meeting addressed by Mr. H. E. Holland, M.P., Leader of the Labour Party, Mr. W. Lee Martin, M.P., Mr. W. McLaglan, secretary of the Northern Miners' Federation, and Mr. J. Roberts, secretary of the Alliance of Labour. The urgency of falling into line with the other mines in the Dominion was emphasised, and at the close of the meeting it was unanimously decided to urge the adoption of the policy.
