The weather was perfect for training operations at Te Awamutu this morning and some interesting work was witnessed. The course proper next to the rails was in good order ior fast work. Supremacy gave Royal Ruler a couple of lengths start and the pair finished "together at the end of four furlongs in 50 l-ss. Both horees did their work pleasingly,, especially Supremacy. Karapoti was not timed to run four furlongs under a steady pull. Sir Kay galloped witli his usual freedom over four furlongs in 50s. Pegaway wan going at his ease while running five furlongs in 1.10. Pegaway has not been, asked to do his best lately,' but he Te Homai and Perennis galloped half a mile in 545, finishing on terms. Te Hoia, assisted by Musical Item over the last two furlongs, covered four furlongs in 565. ' . '* Motere and Trishna were given strong work over a mile and e-quarter, travelling about 15s to ihe furlong throughout," Motere appears to have benefited by his race at Cambridge and did his work well. Hoihoma, galloping in her customary free stylo, reeled off two furlongs in 24 l-ss. Llanfylan and the Lord Quex-Lovematch filly were companions over threo furlongs in 3855, with Llanfylan doing it better at the finish. Valmario, who got the best of the jump off, led Principal Boy over five furlongs in 1.6. Valmarie, a promising novice, is improving with every gallop. Kingsway and Illuminelli finished together at the conclusion of three furlongs in 38s, a Bmavt performance. Flying Prince surprised by defeating Biddy's Boy by a couple of lengths over six furlongs in the fast time of 1.17. Flying Prince carried a light boy, but it was a • pleasing effort, "while Biddy's Boy did not show liis usual brilliancy. Awamutu dashed over four furlongs in 50s and did it well. Protomint, who did not begin well, just failed to catch Iljuminagh at the end of four furlongs in 51s. Baroscope went in leisurely style over two furlong? in 28s. . Air King (J. Mcßae), after running off at the first fence, jumped six hurdles satisfactorily. . .• Goodfellow (J. Mcßae) just scrambled over the first fence and then jumped four hurdles very carefully. NOTES FROM EVERYWHERE. TRACK AND STABLE GOSSIP. The Ellcrslie horseman, R. McTavish, will leave for Christchurch this evening t<j fulfil riding engagements at the Canterbury Jockey Cub's Metropolitan Meeting. His mounts will include White Fang in the Stewards' Handicap and Flair in the Linwood Handicap, The latest addition to J. Chisholm's team at Ellerslie is a three-year-old gelding by Depredation from Pearl de Mont. The newcomer is in the rough and will take some time to reach racing condition. He is a half-brother to Roman Pearl, with whom Chieholm secured a win apd six second* lhs» season. Roman Pearl has been thrown out of training and returned to her owner.
