OBSCENE LANGUAGE USED. OFFENCE BY LABOURER. " f do not remember anything about, it," said Patrick Denis Shivnan, aged 28, labourer, when charged in the Police Court yesterday with using obscene language in Grey's Avenue. The magistrate, Mr. W. R. McKean, imposed a fino of .£1 10s and costs, default being fixed at three days' imprisonment. Pleading guilty to a charge of being idle and disorderly, with insufficient lawful means of support, James Lewis, aged 24, ami Francis Ernest Henry Pierce, aged 17, both seamen, wero remanded until to-day for sentence. " Drink is his trouble," said ChiefDetective Hammond when John Edwards, aged 36, labourer, was charged with failing to comply with the terms of his release on probation. The magistrate extended accused's period of probation for six months and directed that a prohibition order should be taken out.
