VISIT TO AUCKLAND. PLANS FOR ENTERTAINMENT. OFFICERS' TRIP TO ROTORUA. Arrangements for the entertainment of officers and men of the Dutch naval squadron during its Auckland visit were finalised yesterday by Mr. D. Ardell, of the Department of Internal Affairs, and the Mayor, Mr. George Baildon, in conjunction with Mr. M. Copeland, ViceConsul for the Netherlands. The squadron, comprising one cruiser and two destroyers, under tho command of RearAdmiral C. C. Kayscr, will arrivo at Auckland from Wellington on October 24 and will remain in port until the even ing of October 28. In view of tho fact that the squadron will visit Wellington beforo coming to Auckland, the official Stato wolcome will take place at the capital and it is not likely that any member of Cabinet will be in Auckland while the warships aro here. However, tho Oovornment will be represented. Attractions in plonty have been arranged for the visitors during their stay at Auckland. The warships will arrive on tho morning of Friday, October 24, and from 8.30 until 11.15 tho usual courtesy calls will be paid. H.M.S. Dunedin will not bo in port but Commander Nelson Clover, of 11.M.5. Philomel, will call on Admiral Kayscr. Function at Town Hall. After the official calls a civic reception will be given by tho Mayor at/the Town Hall and afterwards Rear-Admiral Kayser and his officers will bo entertained at luncheon at the Athenaeum Club. Tho Auckland Club will hold an At Home at three o'clock in tho afternoon, and in tho evening there will bo a civic At Homo in tho Town Hall.

On Saturday morning Rear-Admiral Kayser and a party of 15 officers will leave by car for Rotorua, returning on Sunday evening. During Saturday the personnel of tho squadron will be the guests of tho Auckland Trotting Club at its spring meeting at Alexandra Park, where they will bo entertained at lunch by tho club. In the afternoon there will bo an Association football match between a team from the squadron and a local side, tho proceeds to bo devoted to the Cancer Fund. A number of the officers havo been invited to attend tho Peter Pan Cabaret in the evening. A number of officers will be tho guests of the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron at a launch party on Sunday morning and senior officers will be entertained at lunch on board H.M.S. Philomel. RoarAdmiral Kayser and tho other officers will return from Rotorua at six o'clock in tho evening and at 8.15, subject to tho admiral's approval, tho band of tho flagship Java will give a musical programme at the Town Hall in aid of the Cancer Fund. At Home on Flagship. On the Monday morning the Mayor has invited Rear-Admiral Kayser and his officers to accompany him on a motor tour of tho city. Tho personnel of tho squadron will again be the guests of the Auckland Trotting Club. Officers will bo- the guests of tho Northern Club at dinner and a ball will follow at the Peter Pan Cabaret. Rear-Admiral Kayser and his officers will give an At Homo on Her Majesty's ship Java on tho Tuesday aftornoon and tho squadron will sail from Auckland in tho evening. The usual privileges will bo granted to officers and men of the squadron by tho civic authorities. They will be admitted freo to the City Council's swimming baths and tho Zoological Park during their stay, and the Auckland Transport Board will grant officers and men in uniform freo travel in trams and buses. Tho facilities of the Northern, Auckland, Athenaeum and Commercial Travellers' Clubs and the Royal Now Zealand Yacht Squadron will be available for officers, and golf and tennis clubs in the city will also assist in their entertainment.
