LOWER SALARIES.
VICTORIAN LEGISLATORS. MELBOURNE. Oct. P. Jn the amended Budget the Premier of Victoria, Mr. E. J. Hogatt, proposes to reduce his own salary by 18 per cent., that of members of the Legislative Assembly by per cent., and that of members of the Legislative Council by 5 per cent. The salaries of Judges will also be reduced.
The members of tlie Victorian Legislative Council receive .MOO a year and of the Assembly £SOO a year. In Victoria £IO,OOO is allocated for (lie salaries of the Ministers. The Chief Justice receives £3OOO a year, the puisne Judges each £2500.
