The King's health was drunk and the Land plaved an excellent programme of music. The. colours of the, regiment with their new battle honours emblazoned looked verv well.

"Before my departure I had the honour of seeing the battalion march past, and of taking the salute as representative of the .Suffolk Regiment (with which th« Auckland Regiment is allied). In a short address of thanks I told them I had been much struck by their turn out and marching. and they were a body the old regiment was proud to bo associated with. I extended an imitation to any of them who might, lie visiting the Old Country Olt'ihe they btill call it) to pay a visit to the depot of either battalion of the Suffolk Regiment. Cheers for the Suffolk Regiment concluded what to me was one of tho mdst, inspiring episodes in my military servico."
