THE WAIRAKAU ESTATE. GOOD FAT STOCK FARM. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TE AROBA. Wednesday. The area of 2028 acres of the Wairakau Estate, To Aroha, owned by Mr. James McNicol, which has been purchased by tho Government for subdivision and settlement, is situated on the main road to Manawaru and Matamata, about five miles south of Te Aroha. The property extends for two miles along the road and is backed by the Te Aroha Ranges. Two hundred acres lie on tho Waihou River side of the Shaftesbury Road and are included in tho area purchased. The intersecting road is metalled and in good order. Tho land is. flat along tho road frontage and for a mile back to the foothills, while a small proportion of tho purchased area is hilly and undulating. Many miles o! drains intersect the property, which is exceptionally well watered. At present tho flats are carrying a rich solo of mixed English grasses and tho sheep and fat cattle grazing on it are in first-class condition. The land, which is specially, suited for the early fat-lamb market, has been farmed by tho late Mr. Duncan McNicol and Mr. James McNicol for 45 years, and tho fat stock produced on it during that period have always realised high prices.
