ASSOCIATIONS' DIFFERENCE. MORE CONTESTS ARRANGED. ' Regarding tho present difference between the Now Zealand Wrestling Association and tlio Auckland branch of tho Ex-Servicemen's Union, Mr. X. S. Miller, secretary of the latter body, niado tho following statement Inst, evening:— . ' , "(1) The Ex-Servicemen's Union had an oflor from tho New Zealand Wrestling Association of reconciliation, based upon our receiving 20 per cent, of tho net profits of matches, to bo devoted to the Returned Boldiors* As3ocation unemployment fund. Our own organisation, conducting its own matches, devotes the whole of tho not profits to sit ok fund. Tliut is our main objection to tho morger. " (2) Our association is tho only one m Auokland affiliated to tho. Dominion of New Zoaland Wrestling Association. " (3) Regarding Ted Thye. ho has definitely signed up with the Ex-Sorvicemen's Union. Thy" and Walker mot in my office yesterday to discuss tlio prospects of n match between them. There is a possibility of their meeting under tho joint control of the rival bodies, although nothing definite has yet been arrived at. An openair match is unlikoly on account of the uusettlod stato of tho weather."
McDOUGALL AND LURICH. Tho match arranged for Monday night next at tho Town Hall, under tho control of the New Zealand Wrestling Association, between Scotty McDougall and Tom Zurich, should prove a good draw. Both men have been dofeated by George Walker. Similarly both liavo earned tho displeasure of Town Hall audiences for their rough tactics. There nro no beg pardons about either McDougall or Lurich when they enter tho ring, and there is every likelihood of a particularly lively and epettacular display on Monday night next.
THYE AND CANTON WINE. Ted Thye and Howard Cantonwino have agreed to meet under the control of the Ex-Servicemen's. Union at tho Town Hall on October 3. Thye created a good impression by the easy manner in which he disposed of Kara Paslm' on Monday evening last and his bout with a heavier opponent, who did particularly well in Australia, should be a good draw.
