BIRKENHEAD BOROUGH.
DENTAL CLINIC FINANCES. Tho Birkenhead Borough Council met last evening, tho Mayor, Mr.i J. P. McPhail, presiding. Tho Birkenhead School Committee appealed, for assistance (o moot tho dental clinic expenses, which had (o bo provided by voluntary gifts. Tho sum of £26 was required for the, present year. A donation of £2 2s was made. Permission was granted to tho St. John Ambulance Association to hold a street collection at Birkenhead on October 3. Mr. H. A. Campbell said concern was felt by fruitgrowers at, Birkdalo regarding tho state of tho roads, in view of tho approaching fruit season, and damage to soft fruits carted over the roads was feared. Tho Works Committee was empowered to have tho necessary work done to tho roads.
