CANADIAN TROOPS.
EXPENSES IN THE WAR. NO FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE. (Roccived September 14, 5.5 p.m.) OTTAWA. Sept. 13. A denial has been mado by Sir George Perley, who at (ho time of the war was Canadian High Commissioner in London, of a suggestion contained in the report of tho committee on unemployment of tho Australian Council of Trades Unions, that Canada was relieved of all expenditure relating to her troops upon their embarkation for overseas in the Great War. " The committee must have been misinformed," Sir George said. " Canada paid tho entire cost of her troops during tho war, from tho time of enlistment until they were discharged from tho service, including their transportation across tho ocean, pay and allowances, their food and tho ammunition used at the front."
